About Busy Bee Apiary & Apothecary

Busy Bee Apiary started in 2011 after attending the Central Texas Beekeeping School.

I am an unconventional beekeeper, in fact the more I was told “you can’t do that” the more I went out of my way to do what I wanted and what made sense for me. I am a treatment-free beekeeper. I work with master gardeners and master naturalists as host sites for my hives. I do not concentrate hives in any of my out yards but choose to keep my bees spread out. With less competition and more available forage my hives are much healthier. I have achieved Master level in the Texas Master Beekeeping program. I teach new beekeepers how to be sustainable beekeepers, and teach them by working hives in my home yard and teach new beekeepers the anatomy of a hive and how to make spits with the bare minimum of resources so that there is the least risk to the bees. I began reading and learning about the beneficial properties of beeswax. I put new foundation in my hives every year, and use my solar melter to harvest wax for my Bee Natural Moisturizer products. I have two top bar hives, but so far have only raised giant red wasps for the last 4 years in them. I utilize essential oils in my moisturizer & Heel Balms.

I try to make products that help the body naturally.
